Ten steps. Click each one to see what it involves, then mark where you are now. I'll remember it next time you open the playbook.
Many firms recruit on a rolling basis and fill places as applications come in. By the time you realise a scheme is open, it can already be full.
Not every company uses every stage, and the order can change. Your tracker is where you keep track of who's at which step.
You'll be at different stages with different firms at the same time, and some will say no. That's normal. Keep the pipeline moving.
These schemes are highly competitive, and rejections are part of the process for everyone, including people who end up with several offers. More strong applications means more offers to choose from.
Reach means the top-tier names. Target means strong schemes where you're a solid fit. Safer means smaller or regional schemes, which often get far fewer applications per place.
I built exactly this for myself. Lots of big firms recruit on a rolling basis, so the closing date is the latest the door might still be open, not a target.
